GameFest

Presented by the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (GSAS) Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, GameFest is an annual celebration of student creativity and innovation in the broader fields of analog and digital game design. The two-day event takes the form of a game development showcase, symposium, and competition with prizes awarded by a panel of local industry experts.

GameFest returns to the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday April 27.  GameFest is an annual showcase of student talent in game development, bringing together students from around New York State and the Northeast to exhibit their games.  The GameFest awards recognize excellence in game design, technical innovation, artistic quality, and narrative design, and are awarded by a panel of expert judges from game studios in the Capital Region.  In addition to the games showcase, this year includes a graduate research symposium organized by students in the Critical Game Design PhD program.  GameFest is hosted by the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at RPI, and is made possible in part by support from the Empire State Development Centers of Excellence Program.

This year GameFest marks both RPI's Bicentennial Year and the 20 year anniversary of the launch of the Game Design program. Please join us as we celebrate these milestones and the future generations of game designers!
